Our Goal

Our goal is to build lasting relationships while providing quality lawn care to our customers in Columbus, GA and Phenix City area.  We want to be the best lawn care provider in our community always providing excellent service at an affordable price.

Residential

Families in Columbus, GA and Phenix City area need a lawn service provider they can trust and depend on while they enjoy time off from their busy schedules.  20 years in business and over 50 years combined experience, we want the opportunity to the show you we do what we promise, and that when we leave a job it has meet your expectations.

Commercial

We know that a businesses appearance is everything.  From restaurants to office complexes, a customer makes purchasing decisions on appearance all the time. Our goal is to be the best commercial service provider in the community. Let us help you generate traffic into your location by keeping your property in shape and manicured.

Distinctions

Building relationships is so important to us.  We don't want to send someone out to your home or business that is unpleasant or who cannot communicate effectively. Upon each visit to your location you will encounter one of our staff members. It may be a simple hello! or a wave, just to let you know that we are there so that you can ask questions or share concerns.

Our Committment To Quality

Estimates will be agreed upon by both parties before a job is performed. There will be no surprises on a customers invoice. We do what we have agreed upon and committed to. All inquiries will be addressed by the company superintendent or owner of Jayman's Lawn Care.

Business Model

  • Customer base is set up on an annual schedule: (Note: Customer schedules can vary in frequency and services based on annual agreement)

    March - November: Weekly visits to homeowner and business as needed.
    December - February: Bi-Monthly visit to homeowner and business as needed.
    44 visits to your location annually unless otherwise specified in agreement.

  • Annual billing configuration
    We take a per visit rate, multiple it by the number of visits and divide the Total by 12 months ($75 x 44 visits / 12 months = $275.00 per month). Number of visits and price do fluctuate per customer request.

  • Cancellations
    Because we are on an annual schedule, and if a cancellation occurs, there may be services due to the customer or monies due to Jayman’s at time of separation. All fees and services due will be finalized before separation. There is always a 30 day out regarding services.

  • Standard visits include
    Cut, edge, blow, weed eat, edge, trimming and round-up spray in beds and concrete as needed.

  • Billing
    We invoice customers for the current month, sending invoices out by the 20th of each month, payable no later than the 15th of the following month. 

  • Optional services

  • References and account lists

  • Rain Delays
    If it happens to rain on the day we are to visit your property, we will do our best to make it up that week, however, this is not always possible due to other customer commitments and seasonal obligations. We track all missed visits and can either credit your account or add an additional visit to your property at a later date or provide a comparable service.

  • Additional visits
    If you are having a party, or a special function, please let us know. We can possibly change you weekly visit to accommodate such a need or drop by later that week to spruce up your place before the event.  This is done at no additional cost as long as it involves regular maintenance and we can absorb the cost. 

    About Jay Kurtz

    Before beginning Jayman's Lawn Care Jay served as the Director of the Howard Mott Center for Men at the Valley Rescue Mission in Columbus, Georgia. He operated the 80-bed facility housing shelter and recovery clients along with managing the centers dinning facility which feeds over 100,000 meals annually. Jay also had a nine year career with TSYS/Global Payments in Columbus, Georgia. TSYS is the worlds largest processor of international card payments, to include credit, debit, commercial, private-label, stored-value and chip cards. His previous work experience required him to deal extensively with customers/users in establishing and planning for systems requirements with the directive to convert customers to the TSYS processing platform. Jay is now celebrating almost 20 years of business in professional lawn care and landscaping in the valley area.

    Jay has served/serves as:

  • Project coordinator for the 1999 and 2000 Convoy of Hope Family Ministry Tent, which includes volunteer coordination, entertainment, preaching and witnessing assignments for over 2000 guests.

  • Denim and Diamond Board member. Denim and Diamonds is a annual concert event which proceeds help fund Columbus Hospice.

  • Project coordinator for the 4th annual "Home Run" 5k road race, Columbus, Georgia.

  • Member “Planet” Professional land care network

  • Member Columbus Chamber of Commerce

  • Member of Better Business Bureau

    Jay earned his Associate in Science from Lees McRae College, Banner Elk, North Carolina and his Bachelor of Arts from Elon University, Elon College, North Carolina.

    Jay is married to Tracy Mimms, and has 2 children, Madeline and Sarah Jane.
